How do I download my stories?
Your stories belong to you — and now you can take them with you. The Download Story feature gives you a personal copy of any story, including all its media files, as a simple file download on your own device.
Open any story in Simirity. Tap the three-dots menu in the top right corner of the screen. Select 'Download Story' from the menu. Your download will begin automatically, and you'll receive a ZIP file on your device.
What's included in the download
Your ZIP file contains three things:
1. A PDF of the story This shows the story's title, text, author details, dates, location, and the story's key information. For media files that can't be embedded in a PDF (such as videos and audio recordings), the PDF includes placeholders showing the file names so you know exactly what's included.
2. All your media files Every photo, video, audio recording, and attachment in the story is included as a separate file. These are the original files, exactly as you uploaded them.
3. A metadata file A structured summary file (JSON format) containing the story's details — title, author, dates, location, tagged people, and file descriptions.
A note on the best way to experience your stories
The downloaded files give you everything in the story — but they can't replicate the experience of reading it inside Simirity. In the app, your photos, voice recordings, and videos all sit together exactly as you intended. Family members can comment, story anniversaries bring memories back at just the right moment, and everything is beautifully organised.
Think of the download as your safety net — a personal backup that's yours no matter what. For actually revisiting and sharing your stories, the app is where they come alive.
